A Collection is a six compact disc box set by American rock group The Doors, released by Elektra - Rhino on July 5, 2011.[1] With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.

Their debut album The Doors, recorded in August 1966 and released in January 1967 showcased the band’s controversial form of dark, brooding rock, an antithesis to the popular Californian sunshine pop of the 1960s. Followed by Strange Days, Waiting for the Sun, The Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel and LA Woman The Doors continued to make iconic albums which would maintain their influence on popular music to this day.

This collection packages the complete anthology of The Doors albums before Jim Morrison’s tragic death in 1971. It features the 40th anniversary versions of the tracks, remastered by Bruce Botnik, and original artwork in replicated paper sleeves. .
